FAITH COMES ALIVE HERE

About us

OUR MISSION

To covenant with God to seek and to save that which is lost with the Word of God,

the Faith of God, and the Love of God.” We will fulfill this mission with our 5 core values, Faith, Family, Finances, Fellowship and Fitness.

OUR VISION

"Changing lives Spiritually, Physically, and Mentally, through the Teaching of the Word of God."

What We Believe And Teach

In the triune God-The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the true God and true Man. The Holy Spirit is a divine person. All scripture is given by the inspiration of God. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God and are in need of salvation. Salvation has been provided for all men through the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. It is the will of God that every Believer be filled with the Holy Spirit. Healing is provided in the redemptive work of Christ and is available to every Believer. The Church consists of all those who have received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust. In the personal, visible, imminent return of Jesus Christ. In water baptism and observance of the Lord's Supper.

“To build a special army of people who are full of God, full of God's Word, and full of God's Faith.”

It was Dr. B that the Lord used in 1996 in ordering her steps to the plot of land on which the current multi-million dollar church building of Chesapeake Christian Center now sits … and the Lord continues to use her mightily to create a spirit of
excellence and to keep the church financially
healthy.

Dr. Beulah Duke’s greatest passion is to be the
glue that holds Chesapeake Christian Center
together through genuine unconditional love for
every member and partner and visitor of CCC.

Our History

Chesapeake Christian Center began with the will of our Heavenly Father in the prayer of a wife, Beulah Duke, who believed God for the salvation of her husband, Marvin. His heart became overwhelmed by the goodness of God. So, in the quietness of his own home, he gave his life to Jesus Christ and received him as Lord and Savior. Shortly afterwards he received the "baptism of the Holy Spirit" and an incessant appetite for the Word of God.

The Holy Spirit began to reveal the word of faith to him in a mighty way, and he was completely transformed.  Soon, God began to use him to minister in a number of area churches. It was during this time that the Lord began showing him how so many in the body of Christ lacked knowledge they needed to live victorious lives. God began to impress on Marvin's heart the need for a teaching ministry in the Chesapeake area.

In January 1992, with a handful of believers and a vision ("Changing lives spiritually, physically, and materially through the teaching of the word of God"), Chesapeake Christian Center was born. Initially the ministry held monthly meetings on every second Sunday at the Holiday Inn, Greenbrier at 6:30pm

In July 1992, Marvin joined the Fellowship of Inner City Word of Faith Ministries, established by Dr. Fred Price. Marvin was ordained in September 1992 by Elder Little Joe Powell of Samuel Chapel Holiness Church of Moyock, North Carolina.

In October 1992, Chesapeake Christian Center began holding weekly services. In August 1993, Chesapeake Christian Center began meeting at Indian River Middle School. After making our daily confessions of faith for 5 years, on November 22, 1998 we celebrated the opening of our brand new sanctuary at 300 Liberty Street in Chesapeake, Virginia. On May 16, 2000, Dr. Frederick K.C. Price, Founder and President of Crenshaw Christian Center in Los Angeles, California dedicated the new building. To accommodate the growth rate a million dollar new addition was built  and dedicated on June 29th, 2008. The new expansion includes a beautiful cathedral lobby area, larger bookstore, fellowship and banquet hall, choir room as well as a media room including a larger nursery and personal ministry room. To God be the glory!
